We’re bringing the Monument to Boston!

The Pilgrim Monument is going to be in this year’s Boston Pride Parade on Saturday, June 8th and we’re looking for volunteers to march with our new and beautiful float!

The float is being sent to Boston with the message that the Pilgrim Monument stands as a symbol of freedom and acceptance and is a beacon that welcomes everyone to Provincetown, a place where people can be who they are. The Boston Pride parade is a great opportunity to showcase the Monument and invite parade spectators to visit the Monument and Museum this season and also to generate awareness of the Provincetown 400 commemoration in 2020.

Marchers will be provided with a PMPM shirt to wear while they walk alongside the float. The Parade starts in Copley Square at noon and all marchers must be at the float location (TBA) by 10:30 am. The route is 2+ miles through the Back Bay, South End, then up Beacon Hill before ending at City Hall Plaza where the free Festival and Concert take place.

Transportation to and from Provincetown will be provided. If you are located in Boston, you are also welcome to join us at the Parade. If you are interested in joining the Monument marching group for the Boston Pride Parade, please contact Diana Batchelor by FRIDAY, MAY 31 at dbatchelor@pilgrim-monument.org or 1-508-487-1310 ext. 122.
