The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM), will hold the 2022 Annual Lighting of the Monument at 6:00 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022. While there will not be an in-person event and the PMPM grounds will be closed to the public, residents and observers are encouraged to get “Loud for the Lights” when they come on.

Each of these groups has a colorful history that makes up the fabric of our beloved town, and we are literally waving the banner to celebrate them. In June, we flew three flags alongside the monument in observance of Pride Month, Juneteenth and the Provincetown Portuguese Festival. In August, we flew the Jamaican Flag, celebrating Jamaican Independence Day.

It hardly seems possible that we are ready for the autumn breezes to come back to the Cape after this incredibly hot and summer. Once again, we’ve experienced a season like no other, and this year, Provincetown was affected by bad press, hurricanes and the challenges of the lingering pandemic.
