Partita #2 in D minor, BWV 1004: Allemande by Johann Sebastian Bach

Composition:
Partita #2 in D minor, BWV 1004: Allemande by Johann Sebastian Bach

Performer:
Jeffrey Thurston, violin

Concert:
Quarantine performance created especially for CMOC website in July 2020

Program Note:
A partita is a dance form and this particular partita is Bach’s most famous for solo violin. Listen closely to Jeffrey’s interpretation. He brings out the two distinct lines as if there were two instruments and beautifully shares the harmonic shape – a great example of Bach’s arabesque.
