Chamber Music for the Outer Cape presents “Friendship and Admiration”
February 2 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$20
Chamber Music for the Outer Cape presents two works by composers whose friendship and admiration became legendary in the 19th century musical world – Joannes Brahms and Antonin Dvorak. It was in fact, Brahms’ comments and writings about Dvorak that established Dvorak’s first foothold in the minds of the Europeans beyond the Czech boarders. In the first half of the concert, we will present the beloved but less performed Brahms Horn Trio where the horn replaces the cello with its lovely mellow tones. The Second half, will feature the brilliant bravura of Dvorak’s Piano Quartet in E flat opus 87. an excellent work to hear the “endless melodies” that poured from Dvorak’s pen.
Doors open at 7pm and the curtain opens at 7:30pm.
