Before Motta Field gets a major glow-up… we’re going back to its roots. Join us for the unveiling of local artist Jay Critchley “Grace Gouveia: Smoking Bomb,” a multidisciplinary tribute to one of Provincetown’s own—Portuguese immigrant, educator and poet Grace Gouveia. Jay will honor Grace by inscribing her poetry with white line chalk on the field. 🎷 Saxophonist Ken Field will be playing live from the base of the Monument.💃 Dancers will be moving around the poetry itself! 👀 View it from 252-feet above—from the top of the Monument! The first 50 people to climb up and snap a selfie will receive a FREE copy of Critchley’s Build a Monument Book featuring text by Grace Gouveia (first published in 1982!).
