This year's celebration of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum dedication is featured prominently in the designation. Voting open until February 28.

(January 13, 2010)  Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum Makes it Easier to Participate in Presidential Letter Writing Campaign - The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) has launched a letter writing campaign to encourage President Obama to attend the August 5, 2010 celebration in honor of the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Pilgrim Monument.  To make it easier for residents and Monument visitors to participate, PMPM has posted a letter template on its website.

(November 19, 2009) Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum and Truro Vineyards Announce Winner of Commemorative Wine Label Contest - The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) announced today that Truro artist Rebecca Bruyn has been chosen as the winner of the  wine label design competition.  Several months ago, PMPM and Truro Vineyards released a call to artists to create the best design for a commemorative wine label celebrating the 100th anniversary of the completion and dedication of the Pilgrim Monument.  Bruyn delivered the winning design which will be featured on limited special releases by Truro Vineyards in honor of the historic event, to be celebrated on August 5, 2010.

(September 26, 2009) 5th Annual House Tour to benefit Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) - Visitors will get a chance to see inside a broad range of Provincetown’s interesting and attractive homes when The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) conducts its 5th Annual House Tour on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets for the House Tour are $30 ($25 members) and include admission to the PMPM.

(July 2009) Monumental Music Series “4 Hands, 2 Guys, 1 Piano”- Paul Bisaccia and John Thomas present 4 hands, 2 guys,1 piano on Tuesday, July 28 at 7 p.m. at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum. The pair will perform music by Copland, Chopin, Gershwin, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Thomas, and more.

(June 30, 2009) Columbia Expedition Film Screening- Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) hosted a documentary film screening of Andrew Buckley’s Hit and Run History: The Columbia Expedition on July 21st, a project taking the viewer on a journey following the tracks of John Kendrick and the Columbia Expedition.

(June 29, 2009) Educational Shark Program for Kids at PMPM- On July 27 at 11:00 a.m. the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) offered a one hour educational program on The World of Sharks conducted by educators from the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Service.

(June 24, 2009) Walking Tour of Provincetown- The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum announced that it once again partnering with the Cape Cod National Seashore to offer walking tours of historic sights in Provincetown every Wednesday in July and August.

(June 4, 2009) Summer Music Series 2009- Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) presents Monumental Music 2009 Summer Music series featuring a wide variety of musical performances from show tunes to sea shanties and will take place on varying Tuesdays at 7 p.m. throughout July and August.

(June 2, 2009) PMPM Annual Meeting and Kickoff Event- Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) announced today that it will hold its117th Annual Meeting on Friday, June 19th at 4 p.m. at the monument. The event will kick off PMPM’s summer season as it announces plans for the upcoming year and prepares for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the monument’s completion.

(May 18, 2009) Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum named “Best Museum” by Cape Cod Life magazine- Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) has been named “Best Museum” by Cape Cod Life magazine. The June issue of the magazine awarded PMPM the 2009 Editor's Choice for Best Museum on the Outer Cape.

(March 17, 2009) Pilgrims, Patriots, and Products 2009 Exhibit- The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum’s (PMPM) 2009 exhibition, titled “Pilgrims, Patriots & Products: Selling the Colonial Image” opened on April 1, 2009.

(March 2, 2009) Jim Bakker Named to Cape Cod Historical Association Board- The Cape & Islands Historical Association has selected Jim Bakker as their newest board member. Bakker is the Executive Director of Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum, and a trustee and former President of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.

(February 6, 2009) Heart Healthy Climb Hosted by PMPM- (February 14) In an effort to raise awareness for women’s risks of cardiovascular disease, the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) join other landmarks across Cape Cod by glowing in red light and will also host a Heart Healthy Winter Climb up the 252 ft. monument.

(January 27, 2009) Artwork Depicting History of Ptown FREE Valentine’s Weekend- On Valentines Day/President’s Day weekend, The PMPM opened its doors to the public with free admission to view five paintings that are on loan from the Town of Provincetown Art Collection.
